The Portes Du Soleil is regarded as one of the best Mountain Bike areas in the Alps if not the world and with Chatel based in the centre of this region it is ideally placed to base your holiday from.

The Portes du Soleil has over 650Km of marked mountain bike trails with 10 dedicated permanent downhill tracks, 4 Bike parks and some Mountain Bike Trials areas. These are accessed via a system of 24 lifts which give you freedom to explore the region without to much climbing.

The marked trails cater for all levels of rider from complete beginners who want to enjoy a beautiful day out in the mountains through to experienced riders who want to ride hardcore trails.

SUMMER LIFT PASSES

Mountain bikers should choose the comprehensive Portes du Soleil pass. In addition to the 24 ski lifts in the area, they can make use of all of the mountain biking facilities (bike parks, permanent downhill runs, etc.). They can also choose the special MTB packs of 6 or 10 tickets.

LIFT OPENING TIMES

The current system of lifts is being expanded year on year and the opening times are also being extended to allow for a longer summer season. The lift system opens on the weekend of the 26th of June and finally closes on the 19th of September.

BIKE PARK MAP

The Mountain Bike park is a special area dedicated to mountain biking fanatics, located at Pré-la-Joux/ Plaine Dranse.

Reached by Pierre-Longue and/or Rochassons chairlifts, it offers 17 mountain biking trails at all difficulty levels (3 green, 4 blue, 2 red and 6 black) 16 of which are downhill runs.
